Summary[]
Not for the first time, Tony Newman and Doug Phillips find themselves in the midst of a battle after tumbling into a new time period. Upon inspecting a nearby shield on the ground, Newman and Phillips ascertain that it is of Chinese origin and they are in the time period of Genghis Khan. They are then captured by men on horseback and taken into a nearby tent where the leader identifies himself as Batu, the grandson of Khan. He believes Newman and Phillips are Marco Polo’s men and he demands that they provide him with information on how to capture Polo’s fort.
Newman, unable to provide any information, is tortured to the point where he passes out. Phillips is able to free him, and while carrying his unconscious friend away from the camp is rescued by Polo and some of his men. Newman is nursed back to health by Sarit, and falls in love with her. He tells Phillips that he wants to stay in this time period, which causes the two friends to argue. Unfortunately Batu’s men are able to get into the fort and kidnap Sarit, as Batu needs to force her into marriage to gain power for his side.
Newman and Phillips are able to rescue Sarit, but an enraged Batu plans a massive attack on the fort. Upon seeing their plight, Project Tic-Toc sends a box of fuses in order to help Newman and Phillips balance the odds with the homemade bombs they have made to use against Batu’s army. Their friendship restored, Newman and Phillips vanish into the mists of time.
