Penny Robinson was the younger daughter of John and Maureen Robinson. She had two siblings, Judy and Will. Once or twice she had gotten into an argument with Will ("Curse of Cousin Smith"), but that soon subsided, as most of the time she got along quite well with both of her siblings.

Penny was fond of animals, and acquired several pets, including Debbie the bloop, a dog, and a frog.
