Summary[]
Tony Newman and Doug Phillips come tumbling out of the time vortex into a storm of wind, thunder and lightning. The land on the ground outside the tent belonging to Joshua, the commander of the Israelites. They convince Joshua they are from the future, so they are sent to spy on the city of Jericho, as Joshua’s forces had been marching along Jericho’s walls as was told in the Bible.
After interrupting a sacrificial ceremony, Phillips is captured and thrown into the dungeons, but Newman escapes, hiding in a household that happens to belong to Rahab, who’s house would not only be the only one left standing after Joshua’s forces attack (again, as told in the Bible), but she was also the sister of the young girl Phillips and Newman freed from being sacrificed earlier.
Meanwhile, the crew at Project Tic-Toc is researching the Bible in order to try to move Phillips and Newman out of the area. Unfortunately the hunt for Phillips and Newman intensifies when Newman is told by Rahab’s father how to free Phillips via a secret entrance chamber, along with a big bounty being offered to anyone in the city who would be able to turn in Phillips and Newman, as Ahza, Rahab’s servant, had been uneasy during the entire ordeal with the scientists being hidden in their house.
Background information/trivia[]
- This was the first episode ever where full power was ordered to be restored to the Time Tunnel to try to transport Phillips and Newman out of the area, which could end up killing the two. It is unknown if this was just in regards to this episode or if this was always the case where they were in that much danger from being transported.
- This was also the first episode shown where Dr. Ann MacGregor expressed her skepticism over events as they unfolded before them, saying that as a scientist she couldn’t believe a tale from the Bible without proof. This after previous episodes in which she had seen extraterrestrials and a ghost, not just on the Tunnel view-screen but in the Tic-Toc complex itself.
