James Darren was born James William Ercolani on June 8th, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. James Darren was a "teen idol" in the late 50's to early 60's. He released many popular songs and albums as well as starring in movies such as "Gidget" in 1959. Many Irwin Allen fans recognize him from the television show The Time Tunnel, which he also appeared in "The Mechanical Man" episode of the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea TV show. Darren directed many action-based television shows such as "Hunter", "The A-Team", and "Nowhere Man", as well as dramas including "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Place". In 1998 James Darren made appearances on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".
